The Advanced Mailbox combines every feature you need for professional email:

 

Roaming SMTP enables you to send mail using email software on their computer, however you're accessing the internet. With many other providers, the ISP's outgoing mail server is needed to send email, but with an Advanced mailbox you're not tied to a single broadband connection. For example, if you use email software on a laptop, you can send emails using different broadband connections when you're on the move, without having to change any settings.

 

Using respected, industry-leading virus scanning software, our mail servers prevent harmful, malicious emails from reaching your customers' computers. Accurate interception is ensured by regular, automatic updates of both the scanning engine and the virus definition file.

Viruses are intercepted in real-time, following heuristic scanning of all inbound and outbound email, to identify and remove suspect attachments and malformed messages. Even archived files are searched, ensuring your email is trustworthy.

Multi-level, Bayesian spam filtering traps unwanted, unsolicited emails. Each email is checked against a set of criteria and depending on your chosen filter strength, is determined to be spam or legitimate email. You choose whether the filter adds "SPAM" to the front of suspect emails' subject lines, or deletes the email entirely.

 

 

 

BT Recently announced that, for security reasons, they are now preventing BT Yahoo! Broadband users from sending emails from software such as Microsoft Outlook and Thunderbird, when the “From” email address is not a BT Yahoo! email address or a “validated alternative email address”. In February 08, SKY also stopped the use of their SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) servers to send emails.

 

Both of these changes have meant that many Sky and BT Yahoo! broadband users have been unable to send email until they change their SMTP settings, or in the case of BT Yahoo! customers, go through a process of validating their email address.

 

Only the Advanced mailboxes offer ”Roaming SMTP” which enables you to send email using your PC software, regardless of your broadband provider (so it’s great for laptop users!). If your broadband provider stops the use of their SMTP servers, you won’t be affected if you have a Advanced mailbox.

 

Standard POP3 mailboxes can be upgraded  Advanced mailboxes easily (and instantly!) any time so if your provider changes their policy in the future we can upgrade from the Standard to the Advanced mailbox.

The backup mail servers will receive your emails in the event that a message has difficulty being delivered to your own server due to temporary network outages or server maintenance.

In the event that the primary mail server is not available for any reason, all mail is automatically sent to one of the backup mail servers instead. The systems will automatically forward any stored mail to you as soon as your server is detected as back on-line. In addition it is possible to view the email that is stored in the queue (although you cannot read it) and forward anything that is important to an alternative address.
